SO APPARENTLY MY MUSIC HAS SPREAD OUT TO YOUTUBE AS WELL.
Let me explain.
Recently I've been noticing a boom in the overall views of my remixes of this year and some from the years gone by. I was a little perplexed by this, as my remixes have usually been seen by only a handful of people. Lately, just a few mixes ALONE have jumped up to thousands of plays, and there have been more votes cast for a few of my mixes than ever before. I found out why.
My music has been slowly, but surely, making its way onto YouTube (discounting my own personal influence). People have used my remixes, particularly a few of my Touhou mixes, in Geometry Dash and the like, and as a result, the rise in publicity has been absolutely astonishing. I never expected anything like this to happen, nor would I ever have dreamed of it. Lately the number of people who have played my music on this site has skyrocketed, and my Nuclear Fusion redux ALONE has garnered more popularity than my most popular ORIGINAL song, Endless Confrontation. This is crazy to me, and I mean crazy. I don't know how to react, nor do I know what words to say to this!
I mean, as far as I've known, the only people who have used my work on YouTube have been myself (as Shiverwar) and a few of my friends. It's insane. Once again, you guys, I want to thank you for sticking with me throughout the years, and I also wish to apologize for the very slow pace of releases that I've been subjecting you to. Things have been rather difficult, to say the least, and my will to make music has been dwindling as of late. I promise, though, this will be temporary, and I will get back into my groove one way or another, so look forward to that!
Also, as I mentioned, I have a YouTube channel by the name of "Shiverwar", where I mostly upload videos of me playing Dragon Ball XenoVerse (and when my PC is upgraded, XenoVerse 2). Go check it out, if you want! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNN2UU9y3u9MHwjw3GnWllw
See you there!
Hello, Newgrounds peeps!
How's things in your neck of the woods? Good, I hope!
2015 has come and gone, and unfortunately, I was not able to do as many pieces as I had originally hoped to do. However, I hope to make that change this year, because not only do I have ideas of songs I want to take on and new, original ideas formulating in my head, but I'm also armed with some new sounds, namely the V-Metal and SR5 Rock Bass plugins for Kontakt 5 from Prominy! Combined with Guitar Rig 5 (player edition, so I'm limited on the sounds I can use there), I have an even better sound I ever had with FL Slayer! I hope to put these to good use for future works, and who knows? Maybe you'll even like what I have in the works right now!
2015, to say the least, was a rough year for me, as well as for the rest of the world. In my case, I just couldn't find the time, nor the mental fortitude, to put out the mixes I'd have liked to have put out. Work has been running me absolutely ragged, and the stress at home has risen to an all-time high, even now, in 2016. With this, though, has come a new light in the form of the plugins I obtained. Once I figure out how to work them to my greatest advantage, I'll be sure to share the products of my labor with you guys!
Thank you all for being so patient with me over the years, and yes, even the haters are appreciated! It's you guys that push me to become better than I was previously, and I hope to keep that going! So, yes, keep the reviews coming, both positive and negative! It helps, believe me!
Look forward to some new work by me! I am working hard to bring some new stuff to the table, as well as reworks of old favorites/mixes I've already done in the past! Please remain patient, I am working as hard as I can... Until then, enjoy what I have now, and be sure to tell me what you think!
I should have made this post yesterday, seeing as how my return started yesterday, but nevertheless, I have once again returned to the world of music! Yeah, as you may remember, some time in late November, early December, the computer I had FL Studio set up on screwed up to the point of it not letting me back on. Now that I have a new computer, and FL Studio set up once more, I am back and ready for more!
You may have noticed that I have released two new remakes, both of very well-known themes. I've wanted to do these songs for a while, and I'm glad I was able to finish them and show them off to you guys. The first one, of course, is the theme that you hear when you fight the various gym leaders in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and also in the recent remakes of Ruby and Sapphire, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. I had a lot of fun doing that theme, and yes, I realize it is basically mirroring the original versions. That was my intent. The second one is of one of the most famous themes in video game history: the theme that plays when you fight Champion Lance and Trainer Red in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and once more in their remakes, Heart Gold and Soul Silver. I tried to incorporate the elements of the Heart Gold and Soul Silver version, but mainly tried to stay true to the original theme.
Expect more mixes and originals in the future, as I have a lot of ideas and a lot of mixes I wish to do. I hope you guys enjoy what I have so far, and let's hope that this continues for a long time! I am back, baby!!
Welp! By some sheer turn of bad luck, or maybe some other being out there being utterly pissed at me for something, I'm not sure what anymore, my laptop is out of commission! I'm not sure if it was data corruption or outright hardware failure, but regardless, it looks like my music composing and remixing is going to be on an indefinite hiatus, until such a time that I am able to compose again, but who knows when that'll be? At any rate, I have a lot of stuff done on here anyway, so go ahead and check out my work that's already here! If you like it, if you don't like it, either way, please, at least tell me what you guys would like to see from me! I love hearing from you guys! Yes, even you haters. Come on back, guys! Where's the hate? As Pat Benatar once sang, HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT.
Hey there, fans and haters alike! How the hell are ya?
As you all are aware, back in Jan 14th, I had lost access to my entire computer's hard drive, which meant all of the songs I was working on became inaccessible and therefore unable to be completed. Well, guess who's back! That's right. I'm set up with FL Studio once again, and I will be coming in hot! So you ladies, gentlemen, bitches, and bastards better be getting ready, because I'm back, and I'm gonna be kicking hard!
That's right, to make up for lost time, I will be working on a slew of both remixes and original work. In fact, I have a new song in the works right now, so you should look out for it in the future! Also, I will have a slightly different set-up than my previous works, but it should please you to know that I am once again back at work and making music once again! Hot-diggity-dog!! Unfortunately, since the works I was in the process of creating are still unable to be recovered, I will have to restart most of those unfinished works from scratch. Luckily, I'm pretty much all set up, so I'm ready to bring my music back to you loyal fans and lovely haters, so keep an eye out, because SSJ3 is back, bitches!!
P.S.: Since I am also doing remixes of various video game themes, I want you guys to give me some suggestions. I already have a few in mind, but I want to see what you guys can challenge me to do. It can even be one that I've done before!
Hey, Newgrounds people. I have some unfortunate news.
Well, as you know, my work is made using FruityLoops, and as of late, I'd been getting more into remixes, whilst working on some work of my own. Well, now that's over.
As of January 14th, my computer is down, and probably for good. Possible cause: hard disk drive corruption. This means that everything I had on my plate, which consisted of original songs, Pokemon remixes, Mega Man remixes, and the like, are now shot, and gone for good. If I am EVER able to get FruityLoops again, it will be at a later time, but for the time being, all of my music production is on an indefinite hiatus, until such a time where I am able to acquire FruityLoops once more. However, this does not mean I will lose my spirit as a musician. Wherever there's a will, there's a way, and I assure you I WILL find a way. It'll just take a lot of time. However, until further notice, all music production from me will be forced to cease. I very sincerely apologize to all of my fans and supporters for this, but once I am able to make music once more, I will work my fingers to the bone and show you guys that this bear can still make a mean roar. For all you haters out there, enjoy this victory while it lasts, because I will not be down and out forever.
Alright, boys and girls, listen up. SSJ3 here with an update for y'all.
Lately things have not been going so smoothly for me, in life and in music creation. I haven't been able to come up with many ideas for things, and even my remixes have suffered a bit. But fret not! I'm currently working on a batch of mixes that may or may not blow your mind. One such mix is one I've never done before, and one that's incredibly challenging for me.
Anyway, on to some minor things. I've noticed that not many people leave reviews lately. Sure, maybe they don't have time, but sometimes, I'd just like to hear from you guys what my music is like for you? Do you like it? Do you not like it? Are there problem areas that need fixing? Anything I should add or remove? Let me know what you guys think so I can improve on my skills. That's why I ask for reviews and not ratings. I'd like the opinions of the portal lurkers so I can improve my songs and make better stuff for you guys.
Sorry for sounding like a bit of an attention whore there, but that's the truth. Your opinions matter because it could help me improve on my abilities.
Anyway, among the lined up mixes, we've got a few going on. Some are Touhou, some are Final Fantasy, but one such mix is one I never thought I'd do, and one that's currently kicking my ass. Giratina's theme from Pokemon Platinum. Damn, I never thought I'd meet a more challenging song since "Night of Nights" and "U.N. Owen was her?". Be on the lookout for it, because I'm working hard on it. It's actually a challenge a really close friend of mine proposed, and I have to say, pretty fuckin' hard to recreate.
Anyway, that's about it, I hope you guys stay tuned and are psyched about the mix as much as I am doing it. Peace and love, love y'all.
And to the haters and trolls... Where the fuck are you? I need my entertainment back, bitches.
Heya guys! It's SSJ3 here, and I need your help!
See, lately I've been having trouble coming up with new tunes. My two successful original loops posted this year, Oncoming Challenge and Dance of the Blades, have been good, but I need to make something new, but I'm having trouble coming up with shit to make. If you guys could give me some ideas as to what I could do, I would DEEPLY appreciate that.
Post an idea in the comments section, or even give me a link to a picture of something I could use. MAKE IT APPROPRIATE. I'm not doing songs based on nudes, and I most certainly do not want links to sites that have the seizure-inducing pictures with fake screaming behind it. That's just immature and fucking stupid to boot. Those that have supported me in the past, I hope you see this, cause I could sure use some help right about now! Also, added to ideas, I need some ideas on WHAT kind of sounds I should use.
Thank you for your time, and hopefully you guys have some ideas under your belt that I could use!
P.S.: To all you haters out there, keep on hating. As far as I see it, if you love me, I'm in your heart. If you hate me, I'm on your mind. Either way, you're thinking about me. :D
Hey, it's Shawn. Fans, listeners, and haters, listen up.
School has gotten me held back on my music composition. But I'd like to let you all know that I'm still alive. On my end, I'm trying to get my life sorted out again. It's been 10 months today that my family was split apart, and I moved to California away from my loved ones with my mother. I'm still trying to recover from that.
Other than that, I have some new pieces up, namely my take on Motoi Sakuraba's "Confidence in the Domination". Give it a listen, especially if you are a Valkyrie Profile fan!
[EDIT] You may have noticed a few changes to my profile. Yes, I like Valkyrie Profile and Lenneth Valkyrie. So what?
Right now I am currently on spring break, and in Arizona, so I have no access to FruityLoops at the moment, but when I do, I have a feeling that I'm going to be fervently working.
So I decided that to try to bring back my creativity, I should try another redux of Endless Confrontation, once again, starting from scratch. The original and the redux are both great, but both could use more power, and more feeling. So once I get back to California, I'm going to try to rework the song to see how I can make my own submission, one of my best even to this day, even better.
Also, I still want to thank the aforementioned NG users (last news post) for the support they've given me over the years. I don't think I could have gotten very far without it.
