So my old track inspired this, eh? I'm glad to have been an inspiration for you, mate. While I wouldn't say this track is perfect, because some parts feel... a little empty, specifically at the very end, this has some good energy, and the overall instrumentation seems to mesh pretty well. The orchestral hits that periodically show up in the song kind of remind me of Mega Man ZX Advent, specifically the tune "Soul Ablaze". Here, they're a tad overused in my opinion, but because they follow the melody as well as they do, I can forgive that. Overall, a very solid track with a few minor gripes. Keep it coming, man!

Kannonized responds:

Glad you liked it! I don't know how to make parts seem NOT too empty. It's always a problem in every single song.

This is quite a nice listen, my dude. It kind of reminds me of old-school Mabinogi, which were some of the best days on an MMO I had ever had. It's nice and soothing, but upbeat enough to get oneself moving and swaying to each beat. Sure, it's a tad repetitive, but that bothers me none. I love it.

I will admit, I've never heard of Opeth before, but now I simply MUST see what they have in store. I love how atmospheric this is! It's not too heavy, but it's also not lacking in oomph at all. In fact, I'd say the general softness of it makes this a very pleasant experience to listen to, combined with the lovely guitar solo about 4 minutes in. It almost sounds like something you'd hear in a Star Ocean game, and seeing as I'm a MASSIVE Star Ocean lover, I mean that very positively! Barring that, perhaps Wild ARMs? I've really gotta set aside some time to traipse through your new catalogue of tracks. I'm absolutely loving this!

Been kinda a hell of a couple of months for me, so I haven't been able to leave a proper review. Whaddya say we correct that?

First of all, it starts off (and continues to be) VERY funky and groovy, and then the transition to a heavier tone while still keeping the lighter elements coming in every now and again make this an absolute joyride to listen to from beginning to end. Mashing two tracks together and making them work is already a task as it is, but to do it in the style of yet another group/artist? That kind of stuff deserves commendation, my dude! One minute I'm listening to what feels like a groovy number I could do the samba to, the next I'm back in my comfort zone, and loving every switch, transition, and beat! The harmonies, the rhythms, the back-ups, and the supports all come together to make this a mash-up worth several dozen re-listens, at the very least! It warms my heart to see that neither of you two have lost your edge - rather, you've further refined and honed that edge to be razor sharp and keener than a hawk's talons! I do hope you two are getting the proper support you need to better deal with those health issues, and if you need to take a step back to focus more on that, we'll be here when you come back. At least, I will!

pixelseph responds:

That's gonna be our thing going forward - taking a "this-but-in-the-style-of-that" approach to VGM remixes. I'm not promising they will all be good, or listenable, but since this one is up your alley, I'm hopeful you'll enjoy the tunes coming next!

Also thank you, the health issues were mine (and work-related); without making this a long thing, let's just say... don't bonk your head on stuff at work. I'm better, not 100% recovered but well enough to get back into the swing of things.

Thank you again for the review! :D

Damn, this is FUNKY! Lovin' it!

Holy shit, this cover is giving me goosebumps. As I'm listening to this, I can feel the hairs on my arms raise. This is fucking banger, y'all!

Anjer responds:

Thanks!

God DAMN, you got a banger on your hands here, my fellow music person!

As I'm writing this, I'm still only around halfway through the song, but I can feel the sorrow, the loneliness, and the sheer power behind every emotive word you've written here. The track itself is also a powerful driving force behind the sense of being lost in mourning, and it amplifies the lyrics beautifully. Hell, just writing this is actually making me tear up a bit. You and Zac really put together a beautiful elegy here. I hope, wherever he is, your dad is watching you and lending his support and love from beyond. I'm sure he would have loved to hear this.

FarFromSundown responds:

I appreciate the hell of this review. Thank you very much ❤️

Holy shit, it's been AGES since I've seen you guys! I hope you're doing well! That said, what a fucking return to form! The sheer level of ascension you guys have gone through is fully apparent here. Everything sounds so goddamn good! I hope you guys are back for a good while!

pixelseph responds:

Taking time off to hone the craft (and uproot from one end of the US to the other for family) were the two biggest reasons. But we knew we had to return to where it all began.

Glad to see you alive and thriving on NG as well!! Your last few tracks have shown a tremendous amount of growth and we’re proud to remember the previous decade of hyping one another to get better ❤️

I'm bad at lengthy reviews, so I'll keep this brief: this is quite the banger you have on your hands!

Anjer responds:

Thanks for this review :D
